(Toronto, Canada) – AdvancedDigital Inc. is excited to introduce a new type of an encoding product, ideal for commercial video distribution. Recent advances in encoding technologies have allowed the development of a low cost multichannel HDMI-to-SDI and HDMI-to-IP H.264/MPEG-4 encoder. The ADV-8120 can accept as input up to 24 HDMI input signals and output up to 24 SPTS’s (Single Program Transport Stream) or a single MPTS (multi program transport stream) encoded in H.264. The output streams can be sent out over IP or through the built-in DVB-ASI output interface. All of this in a single 1RU rackmount enclosure.
While multichannel encoders are nothing new, what sets the ADV-8120 apart is that it is the first time an encoder is able to achieve such a low per encoding channel density and cost while maintaining up to 1080p encoding resolution. A 24 channel HD encoder in 1 RU enclosure is unprecedented.
The low per encoding channel cost of ADV-8120 finally puts real HD H.264 encoding within reach of commercial applications such as video distribution in hotels, airports, sports bars and commercial venues.
The ADV-8120 is offered in 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 channel versions.
Currently the MSRP starts at $3,450 USD.
